Completing a big race is a common New Year’s Resolution for people. But did you realize that by signing up for the #IndyMini, you can accomplish even more resolutions?

1. Become a healthier version of yourself
   New Year, New You! Training for a half marathon involves exercising, eating well, and listening to your body. Plus, having a goal is a great way to kick start your journey to better health and put together a plan. 

2. Spend more time with family
   Running doesn’t have to be a solo activity. Invite your family along for a training session, or better yet, have them participate in the #IndyMini with you! You can also bond with the spectators in your circle by making fun race day signs to cheer you own. 

3. Give back to your community
   Your registration for the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon supports the 500 Festival’s free youth programs and events. Thanks to your participation, you create opportunities for children around the state!

4. Get to know your coworkers better
   Did you know that we have an Employee Wellness Challenge? It’s a fun, no-cost way for companies of all sizes to promote employee wellness and be part of the excitement leading up to the Indy 500. Plus, training and participating with your coworkers gives you added accountability to achieve your goals.

5. Run on the track of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway
   Maybe this is just our annual New Year resolution but without a doubt, the lap around the IMS is a pretty wild thing to have accomplished! Kiss the bricks, pose for pics, and be inspired by the racing history at this iconic track.

We’re so excited to share that the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon has been named Best Half Marathon in America in the 2018 edition of The BibRave 100: A Definitive List of the Best Races in America! The #IndyMini also earned awards for Exceptional Race Management and Awesome Medals and Bling. In addition, the 500 Festival 5K was listed among the nation’s top 15 5K races. We were presented with these honors during an awards ceremony held at The Running Event, a conference and retail trade show for the running industry taking place in Austin, Texas.

The half marathon category received the most nominations for this year’s edition of The BibRave 100. Voters cited the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon’s lap around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as a highlight. In addition, the race weekend experience also received top marks. One voter said, “It highlights what makes Indianapolis great, and this race screams ‘Hoosier Hospitality.’” Other acknowledgements the #IndyMini has previously received is being named one of “America’s Most Iconic Races” by Runners World.

Here’s a little extra training motivation for you! Celebrate completing 13.1 miles and pay tribute to the Indy 500 with this race-themed medal. The 3 ½ in x 3 ½ in medal features the  wing and wheel of the IMS on the front, a recognizable symbol of the world’s largest sporting venue. A 3D etched design in brushed silver of IndyCars coming down the front stretch into turn one of the track brings past participants back to a spot on the Indy Mini course they know well. The front also includes the location of the race, the full event name, and 13.1 in gold.

On the back of the two-sided medal is the course map and the OneAmerica and 500 Festival logos. The medal will hang around your neck on a checkerboard ribbon with the event logo.

Participant shirts are black, long-sleeved made of 100% polyester material, making it perfect for training and race day. It’s a textured, mesh fabric for comfort and moisture wicking. The front of the shirt is designed to have the name Indy Mini divided amongst the four spokes of the Indianapolis flag. Each box contains Indy 500 themes, including the bricks and checkered flag. The date of the race is in the bottom right and a secret message is hiding in the bottom right (you can find it when you pick up your shirt at the Expo!).

On the back is a gold circle silhouette of the finishers’ medal, with the wing and wheel, different measurements of distance for the race, and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The gender-specific shirts are available in several sizes, and complete sizing information can be found online. If the size you chose with your registration isn’t a right fit, you can make an exchange at the Indy Mini Expo. All registered Indy Mini participants will receive the shirt.
